Trimspa’s product line utilizes a variety of weight loss substances ranging from glucomannan and hoodia to green tea and DHEA. While a couple Trimspa products contain only a fat-burning or appetite-suppressing substance, at least three others utilize both. Trimspa X32, Trimspa Chocolate, and Trimspa Ultra all offer some combination of the ingredients green tea, hoodia gordonii, and/or glucomannan.
Green tea is a substance which is known to contain healthy antioxidants. While there is mixed research regarding green tea’s inherent effectiveness for weight loss and weight maintenance, green tea often contains caffeine. Caffeine is known to promote thermogenesis (fat burning) but it may also cause jitteriness, nausea, and increased heart rate. Pregnant and lactating women as well as people with certain medical conditions should not take caffeine.
Hoodia is a fruit native to Africa. It has shown promising results as an appetite suppressing-substance. Due to the demand for this fruit, dieters are encouraged to verify the validity and purity of the hoodia they purchase. Trimspa seems to post no hoodia certification on their website.
Glucomannan is a dietary fiber derived from root of the elephant yam (konjac plant) which originates in Asia. There is some clinical research to suggest that glucomannan may aid in suppressing the appetite. Trimspa has the right idea at least with regard to a few of its supplements. Combining fat burning ingredients with appetite suppressants is certainly the way to address dieters’ most prominent concerns. However, the company would do well to clearly display a certification for the hoodia contained within.
In addition to this, dieters must remember that even an appetite suppressant/thermogenic must be used under the supervision of a physician and must be accompanied by a clear plan for healthier eating habits and regular exercise. These three elements must also be augmented by the intake of large amounts of water (to keep the dieter hydrated and free from toxins). When all of these components are in place weight loss is just around the corner.
