Meizitang Zisu Botanical Slimming is formulated with two primary ingredients: Kola, Guar Gum and several secondary ingredients including Alfalfa, Perilla Frutescens, Atractylone, Oriental Water Plantain, Cassia Seed, and Kendyr.
Kola works to boost energy levels and contains the stimulant Caffeine. Caffeine can create a number of negative side effects including headaches, insomnia, irritability and restlessness. While it may improve some aspects of thermogenesis, those sensitive to Caffeine should avoid this ingredient. Guar Gum works to help lower cholesterol levels, but it can also cause itching and hives.
Alfalfa is a diuretic, and Perilla Frutescens is used to soothe stomach pains and nausea. Atractylone seems to induce sweating, while Oriental Water Plantain acts as a diuretic. Cassia Seed is a laxative, and Kendyr appears to be more of a textile crop than a dietary aid.

Secondary sources state that the supplement retails for about $35.00, but consumers will have to create an account online to verify the pricing. Regardless, this price is fairly expensive for what appears to be an almost completely ineffective product.

The shopping page is only available for members of the site, leaving visitors without any pricing or purchasing options. While the site does provide some good general information, we feel that its functionality is lacking, leaving the consumer to provide more personal information than is necessary to learn about the product’s price and other important information. The design is attractive, but its graphics have very little to do with the product itself and more to do with its association with China. The website has some work to do before it is a completely effective marketing tool.
