Medifast |

Review
Summary |
Medifast is a weight loss program that uses low calorie high protein meals eaten every 2-3 hours six times a day. The program is broken down into different steps to first help you get down to your desired weight with the meals and through these meals you are suppose to be taught how to eat in a more healthy fashion. Eating six times a day is designed to help you not feel hungry through out the day and to stop cravings.
The program is popular and well respected. The main complaint a lot of people have is that although it is steady, the weight loss can be slow-going.

 | Program At a Glance |
The website contains several charts that are part of what Medifast refers to as the “Product Claims” link. It showed how their food products and diet bars fell under specific categories related to milk and caffeine content. In general the website claimed that the meals they provide are low calorie, high protein meals. Since Medifast is solely a meal oriented program and does not include any weight loss supplements or products, a lot of people don’t see the results they are after as quickly as they would like. For a list of popular and well-respected supplements that will help make the weight loss move quicker you can click here.

 | Cost |
|
For a men or women’s 2 week supply it can range from $142-$150., and for a 4 week supply for both men and women, it will cost you $275. This pricing is similar for the diabetic meal plans. They do have all their different food products broken down to purchase separately but it is more expensive to purchase them as individuals.

 | Website In Focus |
The website was well organized and designed. All the different sections were easy to locate and use and we especially liked that the contact information was listed on the main home page. The website took us through the different steps and processes of the Medifast program and it felt very professional. The only thing we were disappointed about was the fact that the website did not have a link to any clinical trials done with Medifast for further proof of the product’s effectiveness. Ordering on-line is possible, and testimonies were given. However to really see what their current customers have to say about their results using Medifast, we recommend checking out this popular Medifast blog here.
|
 | Positives |
|
• Company uses spokesmen who are successful clients, and includes before and after pictures and amounts of pounds lost using the Medifast system.
• Customer contact information was readily available and easy to locate on the website.
• Separate plans for men and women are offered
|
 | Negatives |
• Their customers have mixed things to say about them. Mostly they wish the weight loss moved faster. Click here to read a popular Medifast blog.
• Pre-Packaged Meals have very little nutritional value.
• Ingredient information was not listed on the website
• No clinical trials are posted that they say have been used to prove the effectiveness of the Medifast system. Testimonials are nice, but we would like to see actual scientific evidence to support these claims.
• There is quite an extensive list of possible side effects on the website that we have not seen with other weight loss products and programs and that caused us some concern.

 | Final Thoughts |
Medifast is an interesting way to lose weight and the claims and results of the Medifast “stars” do show incredible results. Eating six times a day helps a lot of people control their cravings….but all the meals are pre-packaged and not fresh so there is little nutritional value here. Medifast does not use or incorporate a fat burner or an appetite suppressant with its program which is something that we would prefer to see, especially since the Medifast customers express they would like quicker results. If you are interested in trying Medifast, you might also want to read about a few quality products to incorporate in your weight loss venture. Nuphedrine, HoodiaP57, and Slim 10 are all well-respected and clinically proven pills with huge customer followings. You might also like Slim Shot Diet which is a powerful effervescent tablet to add to your water. Any of these would be good products to use with Medifast or any other meal plan.
