Summary |
LipidFX
The equation is amazingly simple: burn more calories than you consume and you will lose weight. Of course, there are two ways to successfully complete the equation: exercise regularly and eat sensibly. These are tried and true methods of burning calories and keeping caloric intake within a healthy range. But part of the problem with eating sensibly is that, more often than not, we run up against our insatiable appetites. It’s plain difficult to eat less and eat well, when all the bad things taste so good and we always have room for more.
LipidFX, by SciVation, is designed to address just this problem. The supplement is supposed to increase fat oxidation, decrease appetite, and improve insulin sensitivity. As such, it is thought to maximize the fat the body burns, support appetite control, and promote optimal cardiovascular health.
For all these impressive claims, SciVation, for some reason, does not carry the product anymore. The company website makes no mention of LipidFX, and consumers are left to research the product on retail websites.

 | Ingredients At A Glance |
|
LipidFX contains three fatty acids – Oleoylethanolamide (OEA), Stearoylethanolamide (SEA), and TetradecylThioacetic Acid (TTA) – plus ECGC, derived from Green Tea.
OEA is synthesized in the intestinal tract and it may possess certain anorexic properties. That is, it may contribute to a decrease in food intake. This decreasing of the appetite functions independent of the hormones responsible for producing feelings of satiety.
SEA is similarly able to decrease food intake without affecting glucose or triglyceride levels.
TTA works with OEA to increase the oxidation of fatty acids and decrease the storage of fatty acids. TTA may also increase sensitivity to insulin, which means that the body needs less insulin to accomplish insulin-related tasks.
Green Tea is thought to increase the body’s metabolism, and thus aid in weight loss. However the extract may contain large amounts of caffeine and has been known to cause negative side effects including nausea, insomnia, nervousness, elevated heart rate and increased blood pressure. It should be noted, however, that Green Tea might have only a quarter of the amount of caffeine found in a cup of coffee.
Pregnant or nursing women should not take this supplement. Those taking medication already should consult a physician.

 | Conclusion |
|
For those consumers interested in assistance with controlling the appetite, LipidFX represents at least an interesting possibility. However, the presence of Green Tea may turn some consumers off to the idea. Sensible, balanced dieting is possible without supplementation, but it takes a strong will and a clear eye for healthy goals. Combine with regular exercise, and you may find supplements like LipidFX superfluous.
