Doubtfully advertised as America’s #1 weight loss formula, the Hydroxycut® company claims their product is a “research supported, easy to swallow, sweet coated caplet to be used as a weight loss supplement alongside a healthy diet and exercise.” The marketing team uses studies to show that Hydroxycut® aids in appetite control, increased energy levels and significantly more weight loss than dieting alone.

The three big ingredients that Hydroxycut® touts are Hydroxagen Plus, Hydroxy tea, and Chromatech, which are used exclusively in their product. We are not sure exactly what these ingredients are and the website does not elaborate. In addition, they also use Garcinia cambogia(extracted 60%), an Indian herb used to normalize blood sugar levels. The core active ingredient of Garcinia cambogia is HCA, which supposedly causes the body to burn more calories through thermogenesis.
Hydroxycut® professes to use 100% soluble HCA, which is better absorbed by the body and contains a low amount of HCA lactone, a negative form found in lower quality extracts). Also used is Green Tea extract, containing ECC and caffeine. Another ingredient used to normalize blood sugar and thus reduce sugar cravings, is Gymnema Sylvestre Extract.
These ingredients are just simply not that impressive and besides HCA, the rest have no clinical history of any weight loss success. There are products available that contain nothing but clinically proven weight loss ingredients. With so many weight loss products that never work – clinical studies are all you can count on. Before purchasing Hydroxycut®, we recommend a couple of important things to do first:

We found all these choices exhausting – how do we know what to order?

This is a fairly good website for several reasons. From simple touches such as a search box and email/print options on most pages to the seven healthy living calculators as follows: Waist-to-Hip Ratio, Basic Metabolic Rate, Activity, Calorie Needs, Body Mass Index, Water Intake Needs and Target Heart Rate. This function allows the user to learn just how fat and out of shape they are. The site offers separate men and women’s sections to better target each group’s primary interests.
The website seemed to be fully functional, and there were graphics and at least firewalls with daily sweeps for hacker protection. The material is laid out in a user-friendly format and navigating through the website was relatively easy.

• The website was functional and provided a pleasing recipe section, featuring fresh, tasty recipes accomplished by beautiful pictures and had a survey section for people to vote on what they look for in a recipe, low in calories or fat, easy to prepare or family friendly.
• The Workout sections have interesting and helpful gender oriented articles.

• The ingredients are less than average. No clinical studies and uses heavy amounts of caffeine.

• The “Becoming a Celebrity” section may be a high spot for the spotlight hungry, but it stands out as “infomercialism,” and a shallow addition.
• The company does not ship to PO Box addresses, which can be a problem for some potential customers.
• As with many weight loss supplements, Hydroxycut® is quite expensive for such cheap ingredients. If you are going to spend this kind of money, you are better of getting a quality product that has a positive customer following and uses clinically proven ingredients. Hydroxycut® appears to promote healthy diet and exercise, and aids in establishing that lifestyle. Some of the tools presented are helpful, which overcomes the fact that the product itself is ho-hum. Though the company claims the product is well researched, there is really nothing new or exciting to jump up and down over. The product is very accessible to the mainstream, but remains less than average overall. The fact that their customers have nothing positive to say is the most important thing here. There are way better diet pills out there.
