Doctors Quick Weight Loss Diet |
 |
Review
Summary |
Today’s world is populated with a number of overweight individuals. Modern conveniences and a fast-paced world full of takeout food have created an obesity problem that is overwhelming at the least. With this problem plaguing so many, people are continually trying to come up with the solution to weight loss. There are hundreds of diets, pills and plans on the market claiming to provide “quick” weight loss results with ease. The Doctors Quick Weight Loss Diet by Irwin Maxwell Stillman and Samm Sinclair Baker, like many books on the market, makes bold claims of medically proven quick weight loss. We will take a closer look at the book to see if its claims are justified or simply hot air.

At the time of this review, there was very little information available on The Doctor’s Quick Weight Loss Diet. We were unable to find any official website, there were no customer reviews of the book, and the publisher (Dell—now Random House’s Bantam-Dell) failed to provide any information on the book. Amazon.com does retail the book, but it only provides an image of the front cover. The book’s cover explains that the book tells readers how to “lose 5 to 15 pounds a week.” The book also states that readers can “take choice of more than 60 quick weight loss diets.” It appears that the book simply provides a number of diets that it claims are proven to promote significant weight loss within a week, and readers can choose the diet they like best. While this is good in theory, odds are that it doesn’t work as well as it sounds, nor is it a healthy approach to weight loss.

 | Cost |
|
At the time of this review, Amazon.com was retailing 4 used and new copies of the book starting at $3.50 plus shipping and handling. This makes the book incredibly reasonable, but also causes concern—if a weight loss book is truly effective, it is unrealistic to think that it would be sold at such a low price.

 | Website In Focus |
|
At the time of this review, we were unable to find any official website for The Doctor’s Quick Weight Loss Diet. Even the publisher failed to provide any information about the book. It appears that, with the exception of the four copies available at Amazon.com, the book has basically left the market. While we would generally like to see a website for every product, it is probably best to let some products disappear.

 | Final Thoughts |
|
At one time, The Doctor’s Quick Weight Loss Diet may have been a popular and innovative weight loss book. However, it appears that at the present time it has almost completely disappeared from the market. With no information available on the book and such a low retail value, it is impossible to believe that the book could possibly be of any great benefit to someone looking to lose weight. We recommend that dieters look for a more reputable book that readily provides detailed information about its contents, author, publisher and the proof used to back its program. There is no reason for a consumer to waste time and money on a book that didn’t survive the diet market. If you need to lose weight, perhaps a more traditional approach is necessary. Consider the following: finding a healthy eating plan that you like and can live with long term. You should also exercise each day by doing an activity that is fun and enjoyable. Water is extremely important too, and dieters need a lot of it to stay hydrated and to keep their bodies free of toxins. Finally, try the addition of a supplement specifically designed to help with weight loss. Be sure that the product you choose includes the two key elements all effective diet products need; a fat-burner to rid the body of excess weight on the arms, hips, belly, thighs and buttocks, and an appetite suppressant to help control caloric intake and keep cravings at bay. Many good intentions are ruined by cravings that take us over and sabotage our dieting efforts. If you combine all these elements, along with patience and diligence, you will see the pounds come off.
