While Hydroderm seems to focus mainly on skin treatments, they certainly make some brave claims for their only weight reduction product. What is concerning about these claims is the lack of evidence offered on behalf of this lotion. By giving a detailed description (diagrams and all) of how cellulite is formed in the body by “clump(s)” of fat cells, Hydroderm certainly paints a compelling picture for the need to reduce such excess. But the information doesn’t have to go much further to get foggy. Only two clear ingredients are listed for Body Shape: green tea extract and kukui nut oil. These are said to “dehydrate the fat cells” while providing skin relief. While kukui nut oil has long been used as a skin treatment and one study has shown green tea’s effect on restoring skin damaged by radiation treatment, neither of these ingredients are tied to such external fat-reducing capabilities. As to the other “botanicals” included in Body Shape, it concerns us that we do not even have the ability to ascertain what these ingredients are. Thus, it is hard for us to clearly understand exactly how Body Shape will produce “tighter and firmer skin” due to its ability to simply eliminate fat.

While a free trial is an encouraging point, the “trial” is a two-month supply that is guaranteed to produce results within 30 days. Without a clear list of ingredients, cited clinical research, and actual before-and-after pictures of satisfied users, such a miracle cream hardly comes across as convincing.
